Controls

Accelerator systems are housed in a specialized environment that require control systems and technologies that are both versatile and highly customizable. NEC provides both hardware and software to control and organize the components of these systems.

Product Info

In general, most power supplies are controlled and monitored by 0-10 V signals through NEC’s ACT (AccelNET Control System) or a PCS (Process Control Station). Power supplies located at voltage levels other than ground are controlled via the NEC fiber optics signal isolation system. This system transmits the 0-10 V signals by light pulses through plastic fibers. It is very reliable and has been used in many NEC injector and accelerator systems. Many other supplies are controlled via Ethernet.
