Where Has NEC Been?

Over the past few months, NEC has had the privilege of sponsoring and attending multiple conferences around the world.

IBA•PIXE

From August 17^th-22^nd, NEC headed to the IBA•PIXE Conference in Montreal, Canada. We attended talks by various industry experts, toured laboratory facilities, and explored the city. Here are some highlights:

• The use of combined IBA techniques of RBS, PIXE, ERD, and NRA for Materials Analysis
• The use of U-probes beams for ~ 1+um lateral resolution
• Teaching AI to automatically analyze data and detect maintenance issues
• Examples of In-Air PIXE and Micro-PIXE

ECAART

From September 7^th-12^th, NEC attended the 15^th ECAART Conference in Zurich, Switzerland. There were various presentations, tours, and discussions throughout the week. Here are the highlights:

• Several talks about using small LINACS for PIXE
• IBA talks included research done with ToF-ERDA
• Multiple talks involving laser coolers and high mass AMS (I, Pu. U, Fe Pd)

SNEAP

From September 8^th-11^th, NEC was also at the SNEAP Conference in Brookhaven, NY, USA. We heard from some wonderful speakers, attended provided tours, and shared meals with other industry experts.
